The Kenya Breweries Limited has announced that it is planning to provide an affordable alcohol brand to counter the scourge of illicit brew that has killed over 80 people in the past three days only.
KBL Mnaging Director Joe Muganda however says they will need support of the government in order to provide this drink that will cost as low as 25 shillings.
Speaking at a media briefing Muganda stated that the brand will have to be appropriately taxed in order to ensure its affordability for consumers.
The cheap affordable Senator Keg brand launched in 2004 by KBL in 2004 collapsed after the government last year decided to tax it making it unaffordable to consumers.
