Kericho County Governor Paul Chepkwony has been impeached on Wednesday.
This follows an impeachment motion against him passed by the kericho county Assembly over alleged flouting of procurement rules and abuse of office.
All 32 members who were present in the chamber voted for the impeachment with 15 others who were against the impeachment boycotted debate and therefore did not vote.
The Motion was tabled by Nominated MCA Albert Kipkoech and seconded by Edward Ruto Santos of Kipkelion Ward.
Chepkwony becomes the second Governor to be ousted by his County Assembly after Embu’s Martin Wambora.
