Motorists will have to dig deeper into their pockets as petrol and diesel prices inch higher in the latest review by the energy regulatory commission.
Kenyans who depend on kerosene for both lighting and cooking will breathe a sigh of relief as kerosene prices decline following the Energy Regulatory Commission’s (ERC) latest review released on Wednesday.
In the review, a litre of super petrol goes up by Sh0.57 and diesel increases by Sh0.89 while kerosene drops by Sh0.35 per litre.
In Nairobi, a litre of super petrol will retail at Sh114 .73 from Sh114.16 in April while diesel will sell at Sh104.71 from Sh103.82 in April. Kerosene is to retail at Sh82.81 per litre from Sh83.16 in April.
The commission attributed the increase of diesel prices to the average landed cost of imported diesel that increased by 0.97 percent as the average landed cost of imported super petrol decreased by 0.43 percent.
Motorists in Mombasa will purchase a litre of super petrol at Sh111.37, diesel at Sh101.37 and kerosene Sh80.03.
In Nakuru, customers will spend Sh115.35 on super petrol, Sh105.56 on diesel and Sh83.58.on kerosene while in Kisumu, super petrol will cost Sh116.57, diesel Sh106.77 and kerosene will sell at Sh84.60.
Eldoret motorists will buy a litre of super petrol at Sh116.50, Sh106.70 for diesel and kerosene at Sh84.61.
