The Joint Parliamentary committee on Equal Opportunities and National Cohesion Thursday summoned Fly540 management to explain their policies regarding people with disabilities.
Chairman of the committee Johnson Sakaja says the airline management is required to appear before it within seven days.
” We have summoned the management of FLY540 to explain to the committee whether there is indeed discrimination of any members of our society in accessing their services” Johnson Sakaja said.
His sentiments were echoed by nominated mp Isaac Mwaura who condemned the move by the airline for mishandling Reverend Jackson Kosgey who was forced to crawl from the plane after the airline’s staff refused to help him down.
“Everybody must know that the law is not supposed to be applied unevenly, and this information will be available with time after the management of FLY 540 appears before the committee” Said nominated Mp Isaac Mwaura.
Meanwhile nominated Senator Godliver Otieno has criticized the move calling on all Kenyans including matatu operators to accord necessary respect to people living with disabilities countrywide.
