Parliamentarians from Meru region are set to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursaday to discuss issues affecting the community, key among them, the miraa ban by the UK government.
According to Igembe South MP Mithika Linturi, the community has ‘many issues’ to discuss with President Kenyatta but remained non-committal whether the talks would centre on his planned censure motion against Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru.
Linturi spoke to journalists in Nairobi on Wednesday, moments after a meeting of eight lawmakers from Meru.
He said Meru’s are dissatisfied by the UK miraa ban since it has a heavy economic impact not just in the region but in the entire country.
