Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Co-ordination of National Government Joseph Ole Lenku has stated that ethnic profiling done by politicians could be responsible for last night’s Mpkeketoni attack.
Lenku says the government is not ruling out the possibility of politics being involved in the attack that left a total of 48 Kenyans dead.
Speaking at a media briefing Lenku urged politicians to desist from inciting the public or else they will be prosecuted.
The Cabinet Secretary however assured Kenyans that the government is pursuing the gunmen who are said to have disappeared into Boni forest.
Lenku and a team of security officers will be headed to Mpeketoni to assess the situation from there.
