President Uhuru Kenyatta’s The National Alliance Party on Monday held secret party nominations for the Mathare constituency by elections.
The nominations which were held at the Mathare P.C.E. A Church had the media locked out for coverage.
A clerk of the nominations who sought anonymity however told Ghetto Radio News that the nomination exercise had attracted at least five candidates.
Among the candidates whose names were up for nominations were George Wanjohi the ousted MP, Gabriel Muthuma Jacson Mutungi, Samuel Ndung’u, Duncan Muasya.
As at Tuesday evening, the clear winner had not yet been established following the high secrecy with which the tallying was done.
Some party members however expressed concern with the manner in which the exercise was done and demanded that the nominations be done afresh.
