nrbNairobi woke up to an unusual silent morning ahead of the planned CORD’S Saba Saba rally in Uhuru Park.

Business premises remained closed with very few people spotted on the streets despite the government telling people to report to work as usual.

Many shops over fear of chaos and looting that might occur during the rally.

The few people who have opened their shops say they have taken enough precaution for security and are on high alert.

Joseph Munene a shoe vendor in Kariokor says he doubts whether the violence will get to his place of work.

“I am a little far away from town so by the time violence will get here, i will have closed shop,” he says.

Inspector General David Kimaiyo on Sunday assured Kenyans of Security ahead of the planned rally.
