Two bodyguards are among three people charged on Friday over Tuesday’s shooting incident that left six people wounded in Makueni County.
John Muthoka, the county Speaker’s bodyguard, and Francis Gaitho, who is assigned to the majority leader, appeared before Makueni Acting Principal Magistrate Richard Koech and denied charges of unlawfully wounding six people during the incident.
Muthoka was further accused of unlawful possession of extra rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The third accused person Amos Mwanzia who faced charges of breaking the assembly’s main gate at Wote town who was later released on a cash bail of Sh20,000 and a bond of Sh60,000
Both were released on a Sh50,000 cash bail and a bond of Sh100,000 each.
The county’s Chief of Staff was among the six people wounded when two groups clashed outside the assembly.
