Early this week saw President Kenyatta fulfill his promise which was revealed during Groove Awards nomination night at the Arboretum, Nairobi by State House’s director of Digital, New Media and Diaspora Affairs Dennis Itumbi and last week the winners received their monetary award.
According to the Star the President had assured his support for music and other arts industries, saying that his government is steadfast in making sure such industries are given the full attention and commitment they deserve.
This was the very first time award winners received monetary awards from the State and the fast rising Bahati and Sarah K scooping the package home.
It is great news for artistes and also a great gear by the Jubilee Government to support local Music, Film and Artistes.
The cheques were presented to the artistes through CS of Devolution and Planning Anne Waiguru who has been playing a vital role in spear heading the development of the youth in the country.
