A 13 year old street boy was last week forcefully circumcised by his fellow street boys in Mathare slums.
Jesica Muindi a children’s officer in Mathare says the boy was brought to their offices full of pain and his wounds sealed by an elastoplast.
Muindi says he was forced to go under the circumcision as part on an initiation to join the street gang.
She says the women who brought him to children’s’ office in Mathare found him by the road side in deep numbing pain and unable to move.
The boy has been taken to the Nairobi Women’s hospital for treatment and further examination.
“We have now referred him to the Nairobi Women’s hospital for further examination,” she adds.
