President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed Deputy President William Ruto as acting president of the nation while he honours the ICC summons.
Uhuru says this is to allow him attend the Status Conference at the Hague based Court in a personal capacity not as the president.
In his keynote address to the parliament Uhuru stated that he will not put the sovereignty of the nation on trial by going to the ICC as the president.
The presidents hinted to filing for suspension of the cases that he says do not hold currently.
