National Insurance Corporation (NIC) in the East Africa Netball Championship campaign against Kenya’s Ministry of Information previously

Ministry of Communication and Information Technology netball team (MOIC) will represent Kenya in the World Club championships in United States of America it was announced on Wednesday in Nairobi.

Speaking on the championships slated for November 17-26 in Miami Florida, Kenya Netball Federation Fixtures secretary Millicent Busolo said, “South Africa and Uganda have also been invited. England and Jamaica however pose a great threat to our title ambitions.”

Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Dr Fred Matiang’i said they are committed to supporting the team and praised the club for bringing glory to the ministry and the country, “I wish the team well and will attend MOIC’s remaining KNF league fixtures. I would like also to invite President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to grace our matches in future.”

MOIC which was placed third in the last World Club championships in South Africa will send a contingent of ten players and five officials to jet out on November 15th.

The two time Kenya Netball Federation (KNF) Super One league champions under the tutelage of the KNF Fixtures secretary Millicent Busolo comprises of seven national team players including captain Catherine Abwao, assisted by Parin Simiyu. Joan Matingi, Linah Tarus, Caroline Achieng’, Grace Etyang and Cynthia Wanyama also made the cut.

Others who were in the team that finished second in the African Club Championships are Nancy Akinyi, Susan Wanambisi and Pauline Ramadhan. Officials will be team manager Anne Bett deputized by Stellamaris Muthama, Moustapha Ramadhan (physiotherapist) and patron Elizabeth Mambo.
