Muthurwa residents have objected a motion that was presented in parliament by Embakasi North MP James Gakuya’s demanding the demolition of the former Muthurwa Railway Estate.
Gakuya wants the land demolished to allow the expansion of Jogoo and Landhies roads to ease traffic.
Elizabeth Ndule a resident of Muthurwa told Ghetto Radio news that its is inconsiderate for Gakuya to make a decision without involving the people concerned because if the demolitions are carried out many people are going to be homeless.
Ndule is urging the government to come up with an alternative solution to solve traffic jam issues and not jeopardize the lives of Kenyans in that area by demolishing their residence.
She was angered with Gakuya’s decision because he is not even their representative in parliament yet he is meddling in their affairs.
“Nashindwa kwanza yeye ni mbunge wa dandora ana discuss mambo ya starehe kwa nini? mbona maina kamanda haongei, ye ashugulike na mahali amepewa kazi ya ubunge awachane na mabo ya muthurwa hawezani nayo” (“I wonder why he is meddling in Muthurwa affairs yet he is an Mp for dandora, even our Mp Maina Kamanda is not contributing to this topic, let him concentrate with matters in his constituency)” said Ndule.
