
Nyamweya rejects FIFA report on size of League.
Football Kenya Federation has rejected the report of Fifa consultant Robert Niemann’s report on size of Kenyan Premier League.
Speaking at the launch of the 2015 football of the Kenyan Premier League ball by sports brand Puma Nyamweya said that the report is founded on a faulty premise arguing that the consultant never took time to learn the organisation.
A delegation led by Fifa Development Officer for Eastern and Southern Africa,, held separate meetings with FKF and KPL officials on the number of clubs for the 2015 season following a stalemate between the two bodies.
FKF was pushing for an expanded 18-team league while KPL preferred 16 teams.
The FKF President said that the reports is a recommendation but no a directive saying that the federation is awaiting report from the Joint Executive Committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January, 28, 2015, to iron out the two outstanding issues before tabling the same to special general meeting to be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 in Kakamega.
Nyamweya calmed tensions among stake holders saying that disagreement between the two parties does not mean doom for the game saying despite the wrangles the Country Kenya is highly regarded.
