Just a day after the Matatu Owners Association directed all their members to reduce fare, most of the Matatus operating in routes such as Juja road, Thika road,Jogoo Road among other places fare rates remain as normal.
A survey conducted today by Ghetto radio news desk shows that operators assumed the directives and they are operating as usual.
We managed to speak to some of passengers commuting using these routes and here are some of their views on the same.
“I stay in Imara Daima and there is no fare reduction whatsoever. At times it even goes up to 100. I do not think it is ever going to change,” said one of the commuters.
“I am from Kawangware, the fare price is still 70 shillings like it has ever been,” retorted another passenger.
On Wednesday Matatu Owners Association directed all its members to reduce fares with immediate effect following the fuel price reduction in the country.
