The ministry of health is working with counties in equipping level four and level five hospitals with specialized modern and state of the art medical equipment.
Health cabinet secretary James Macharia says the project estimated at thirty eight billion shillings will ensure the hospitals have facilities such as operation theaters, laboratories,ICU and radiology equipment among others.
Macharia says the programme will be implemented in ninety four hospitals comprising one level four and one level five hospital in all the 47 counties in the country.
However Macharia denied that governors are opposed to the project claiming majority of them are already on board having signed up for the project which is intended to improve healthcare in all counties.
