The Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko Monday ordered for the immediate prosecution of 13 individuals and three firms over the multibillion shilling Anglo Leasing scandal.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, the 13 former senior state officers including former ministers and permanent secretaries will face various criminal charges related to the Anglo Leasing scam.
Last year, Kenya received evidence from Switzerland that revealed the identities of persons involved in the multi-billion shilling scandal.
Attorney General Prof Githu Muigai received the evidence and passed it on to the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission who then also set up a joint team with the DPP that reviewed it.
