One person died and three others have been hospitalized following a suspected cholera outbreak in Mathare slums.
According to Julia Waweru, a community health worker in Mathare, one person died in February while three others who had symptoms of cholera were taken to Kiambu hospital two weeks ago.
Speaking to Ghetto Radio news Waweru attributed the outbreak to poor hygiene in the area calling on residents to avoid buying cooked food in the mean time.
However Julia says they have formed a Rapid response team to contain the spread of the disease in Mathare.
