Ahead of their quarter final match against Manchester united at Old Trafford today (Monday 9th March) at midnight, Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger says his side are determined to take a fantastic opportunity to reach the cup semi finals.
Wenger believes his side cannot expect to just defend deep and look to hit Manchester United on the counter-attack if they are to secure safe passage into the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
The Gunners head to Old Trafford on the back of a fine run in the Barclays Premier League, with sevens win in the last eight games putting them third, now a point ahead of United.
The last time Wenger took his side to Manchester at the end of January, they produced what many believe was a pivotal defensive-minded display to beat City 2-0.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Wenger who has won nine of his 10 previous FA Cup quarter-finals said he wants to enhance that record further at Old Trafford and urged his players not to consider who they are facing, rather focus on the fact that they need to make it to the semi finals.
Arsenal is the holders of the cup after they saw off Hull City 3-2 in the finals last year. The game will kick off at 2245hours.
