Kenya Table Tennis Association has launched an MPESA Pay Bill number 901901, for all payments that will be made by its players and members for local events that are taking place.
The 901901 Pay Bill number will be used for payments that are being made by players in the local championships, while corporate teams will be making payments through the Associations Bank Account directly.
The Association will not collect cash at any of their events including tournaments as all payments now will have to be made in advance unlike in the past when cash was collected at venues and functions.
KTTA President, Andrew Mudibo said “The new measures that the Association has introduced are to bring in order and transparency on collection of funds for table tennis activities round the Country. This system will also help the Associations auditors, when carrying out the audit of the National office and also the Associations respective Branches”.
“As we move into a digital era, we will continue to embrace technology that will assist us in the running of the sport in Kenya and we shall soon be launching a mobile phone application together with the re- launching of the Associations website, with the main aim of seeing more interaction between the Association and its members”, said Mudibo.
The launching of the Pay Bill number for the Association comes at the right time, especially with the recent calls that have been made from various corporate regarding integrity and transparency of handling sponsorship amounts that Sports Federations have been given.
Meanwhile, the Association has kicked off this year’s member registration on its website and only registered members will be allowed to participate in table tennis activities that have been organized.
