One person died yesterday in a fire that gutted around 50 houses in Ngei Ward Mathare slums.
The person is said to have been stuck in one of the blazing houses in the tragic fire that lasted for about four hours.
Maggie a victim of the fire told Ghetto Radio News that the man’s body discovered from the debris of the burnt houses after the fire was put off by the residents.
“I only know him by the name the name Freddie, he got stuck in the house and by the time we managed to put off the fire he was already dead,” he said.
Ngei MCA Dan Mutiso yesterday distributed food stuffs and blankets to the affected victim.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
