Two British tourists escaped unhurt in Mombasa on Thursday after a hand grenade hurled at their tour van as they were heading to the Maasai Mara from Diani for a game drive.
Police are looking for the man who hurled a hand grenade at the two British tourists who were in a van causing panic in Likoni area.
However Mombasa County Police Chief Robert Kitur said experts have detonated the hand grenade and nobody was hurt in the incident.
Kitur said investigations were underway and security has been heightened in Mombasa in efforts to avert any possible terror attack.
The attack comes even as Kenyans continue with the celebrations across the country to mark 50 years of independence.
