Kenyans from across the country have eulogised literary icon Grace Ogot who died yesterday.
Ogot a celebrated author and Kenya’s first female MP and assistant minister died on Wednesday after falling ill.
President Uhuru Kenyatta eulogised Ogot as an intelligent writer whose works possessed a rare grace and compassion.
In a statement Uhuru said Ogot’s beautiful works are evidence of her deep connection with the mood of our Nation, as well as the temper of its communities.
Former Prime Minister also sent his condolences to the family of Grace Ogot.
Across the streets of Nairobi, many Kenyans remember Ogot for her literary skills her book The River and The Source being quoted by many people’s favourite.
