gorGor Mahia register their 3rd successive Premier League win for the 2015 season , just three days after chalking up a 2-1 win against Bandari at the City Stadium.

It is a result and performance Frank Nuttal will savoir especially in view of their Champions League campaign which takes an important turn when they face Congolese side AC Leopards in the first round return leg next weekend in Brazaville.

Gor play against Sony Sugar on Wednesday and if they manage another win, then they will beam with huge amounts of confidence for the Leopards tie in which they trail 1-0 from the first leg.

Ali Abondo in mesmerizing form since making the return to Gor from Tusker scored his sixth goal of the season for K’Ogalo with Rwandese Meddie Kagere scoring his second in three days as Khalid Aucho also got his name on a K’Ogalo team sheet.

Gor’s dominance was never in question and early on in the match, Rwandese Abouba Sibomana had an attempt from a freekick punched wide by the Chemelil keeper.

Aucho however ensured the two sides went to the breather with Gor having the advantage, shooting low and hard with his favorite left foot on 41minutes.

The defending Champions started the second period on the same gear they were on before the breather and three minutes from the restart, Abondo made it two with another delightful finish.

Kagere rounded up the job and not even Meshack Karani’s goal could change the result of the match.

Earlier on, Tusker went down 1-0 to Ushuru FC in a Kenyan Premier League match played at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday.

Robert Omunuk returned to haunt the brewers’s scoring in the 5th minute as Ushuru held on to bag maximum points against the former Kenyan league champions.

Omunuk took advantage of a sloppy defending to beat Tusker goalkeeper Farouk Shikhalo with an early goal. Despite going down, Tusker continued to threaten but Ushuru’s back four remained steadfast.

This was Ken Kenyatta’s first league win since August 1 2014 when they beat Western Stima.

The Ugandan winger was released from the Ruaraka based side at the end of last season after falling out of favour with coach Francis Kimanzi as well as constantly being slowed down with injury.

However, the changes could not bore any fruits as Ushuru held on to bag maximum points and condemn the brewers’ to their first defeat of the season.
