Interior cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaissery has voiced protest over travel advisories issued by some Western countries against Kenya, citing security concerns.
Nkaissery has termed the advisories as baseless, saying they were issued without any facts considering the efforts his ministry is making to secure the country.
Two countries have warned that terrorist attacks by Al Shabaab on the Kenyan coast and Nairobi are imminent.
The UK and Australia have issued an advisory warning its citizens to keep off most parts of the Coast, including the Moi International Airport, Mombasa.
The advisories followed recent assessments by Kenya’s intelligence services suggesting that newly trained militants from Somalia had recently entered Mombasa and could be planning attacks.
