
As parliament debated on the EACC list of shame today, surprisingly present in the list was Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Police Service Commission Chairman Johnstone Kavuludi and Kenyan envoy to Tanzania Chirau Ali Makwere.
Sonko is accused of asking for bribery of 1.6 billion shillings in which they were to share with suspended Energy CS Davis Chirchir.
Sonko has in the past lashed out at Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero accusing him of grave corruption issues. His appearance in the EACC list of shame has taken aback many Kenyans.
Kavuludi is also accused of abuse of office by going for trips abroad and not accounting for the funds used.
Conspicuosly missing from the list is IEBC Chairman Issack Hassan whose name has been mentioned severally in the Chicken Gate scandal.
FKF Chairman Sam Nyamweya and AFC’s George Aladwa were among those whose names made a surprise appearance in the list of shame.
Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang has asked the Director of Public Prosecution to move with speed and arrest those named in the list.
175 State and public officials have been named in the list that was tabled in parliament today with majority of those named accused of being part of unconstitutional deal of tenders and procurement.
