The Government through ministry of education science and technology has pledge to give financial support of ksh100, 000 for each family affected by Garissa University College attack.
Addressing the media today the Defense Cabinet Secretary Rachel Omamo says the money will be disbursed after the bodies have been properly identified through funeral committee of the Garissa University College.
“The Ministry of Education Science and Technology through Garissa University have pledged to support the victims with Ksh 100,000 for each affected family. The money will be issued after the positive identification of the bodies through the funeral commitees,” said Omamo.
Omamo however,reiterated that students who survived the attack will be absorbed into Moi University and will not be required to pay any additional costs.
“Transport and all funeral expenses will be catered for by the government and all students will be absorbed at the Moi University without any additional cost,” she added.
