Ziwani ward representative Millicent Mugadi has been accused of nepotism after revelations emerged that she has nominated her sister to chair the Ward Development Fund Committee.
The residents claim all the seven nominees are either related or very close allies of the MCA.
“The problem is she is nominating people on the basis of how you campained for her, if you look at that list her sister is there, the people who campaigned for her are there. The people who do not have jobs completely are not featured in the list at all. So you are left wondering,” lamented a resident.
The nomination which was done last year has Diana Wahitu as the Chair of the committee which is supposed to manage over five million shillings that will be allocated to the every ward.
The gazetted notice seen by Ghetto Radio also has Isaac Nderitu and Sheila Akinyi are also personal assistants to the MCA.
“Before that money is released, we will be forced to block the people from taking office because there is no way you can do your stuff and start insisting that things have to go that way, we do not work like that,” said the resident.
The MCA could not be reached for comment. She said she was in a meeting while contacted by Ghetto Radio.
