15 Youth From Kibera Feared To Have Joined Al Qaeda

The youth who have been reported missing by their parents are feared to have travelled into the middle east between last year and the year 2010.

The parents who were speaking during an inter religious forum on radicalisation claim leads  followed towards the disappearence of their children have indicated that their children got recruited into Al Qaeda.

” My son’s friends say the last time they spoke to him he had mentioned travelling to the Middle East for some religious activity,” said one of the parents who spoke on condition of anonymity.

According to Orogo the parents fear reporting to the government citing intimidation by the government officials.

These revelations come after the government offered an amnesty to al shabaab recruits and their parents to surrender or risk suffering consequences.
