Five bodies have been recovered, while many are still missing after flash floods hit Narok Town.
The death the toll is however expected to rise as the rescue operation continues.
Property valued at millions of shillings was destroyed in the floods that occurred in the wake of heavy rains that rocked various parts of the country yesterday evening.
Two police choppers were called in to help in the search mission downstream with officials warning the toll would increase.
Many residents and motorists were this morning stranded and movement restricted as floodwaters swept through the town.
Narok County Commissioner Arthur Osiya asked residents to remain calm and report any missing person to police urging motorists to be patient with police and not to ignore warnings.
