Residents of Nairobi’s Majengo slums now live in fear of an outbreak of diseases following the widespread infestation of rats in the area.
The residents say rats as long as two inches have invaded the area posing a major risk of diseases like the rite bite fever.
According to Mohamed kamau a resident of the area, the outbreak has been influenced by the heaps of garbage that are all over the are and the unclogged sewer systems.
Kamau is now urging the NYS team cleaning Gikomba market to also extend their services in the slums of Majengo.
