The Kenya Body Builders Federation has officially said that the winner of Mr. and Miss Kenya will go home with an award worth KSH 500,000 in a function that is scheduled to take place in Mombasa County on the 15th of August.
On Saturday 9th May the federation held Mr. and Miss here Nairobi.
The successful event attracted about 200 body building athletes and models countrywide flocking Nairobi’s Charter Hall for the pre-judging event in the morning.
While releasing the calendar of events in Nairobi the vice chairperson Nina Kamwithi said that (KBBF) is now thouroughly organizing more events in the next calendar of the year 2016 expecting major sponsorship deals.
Only six participants in every category had to be selected for the final showcase later that evening on Saturday. The ladies category was equally impressive, a fact that indicates that the federation is growing and achieving it goals of targeting all age groups and sexes.
“I am greatly impressed by the number of women who are competing. If you looked around the hall on Saturday, it was filled halfway with female supporters meaning that women are now developing interest in body building activities,” reiterated Kamwithi.
Kamwithi also said that it is a high time that Kenyans realized the importance of fitness activities that can be participated as sports, leisure or simply hobbies as a way of promoting good health.
Saturday’s event was graced by former champions, now legends like Mickey Ragos, William Cassidy, Fredrick Omondi Sergio, Paul Mwangale and Leonard Lihanda.
KBBF is committed to Kenyan body building athletes’ development and welfare. The federation is now in the process of negotiating major sponsorship deals that will be announced soon.
KBBF is the only sports federation and/or body sanctioned to hold or authorize such events in Kenya. Organizers going against this will have it to face the law when caught.
