A suspected robber was last night lynched to death by an angry mob in Mathare’s Ngei ward.
The suspect by the nick name Nick is accused of terrorizing residents in the area by forcefully robbing them and daring them to take action against him.
“This man was a former resident of this place but then he moved to Dandora. So he would come back here everytime and steal from people then bragging that they can do nothing against him,” says Baraza an eye witness.
Eye witness Paul Baraza says the suspect who was a former resident of Nairobi was caught stealing from a woman just two weeks after he had stolen 4,000 shillings from a man in the area.
“So last night he was caught in a hotel trying to steal from a woman, a crowd of people then chased him to this place and burnt him alive,” he added.
An angry mob that was baying on his blood then descended on him lynching him to death.
“His death is good riddance to bad rubbish. Now he has died like a child leaving no one behind because he defied our counsels,” remarked a village elder.
His body was later on collected by officers from Huruma Police Station almost 12 hours after he had been lynched.
