Kenyan international soccer star and Southampton FC midfielder Victor Wanyama was yesterday on Wednesday 20 May awarded with the President’s Player of the season accolade during Southampton’s FC awards gala.
Wanyama has been registering impressive results in the team in the 2014/2015 season and his fruitful efforts were recognized during the gala when he was presented with the award by club’s honorary president, Terry Paine MBE yesterday.
However Jose Fonte got the most prestigious award as he was named both Fans’ Player and Players’ Player of the Season.
The international Portuguese footballer featured in all but one of Southampton’s games this season amassing a total of 44 appearances.
Matt Targett was named the winner of the Young Player of the Season Award while the hotly-contested Vision Accendo Goal of the Season Award was scooped by Shane Long for his goal against Aston Villa.
