annThe newly appointed Chief Registrar of the Judiciary Ann Atieno Amadi has officially taken oath of office with the promise of delivering a score card that will inspire Kenyans.

Speaking moments after being sworn in Amadi stated that she was aware of the challenges the Judiciary was facing and promised to bring changes in the institution.

Amadi expressed confidence of bringing transformation into the judiciary by learning from the mistakes of her predecessor and colleagues.

“I come into the judiciary aware of the challenges this institution has faced in the past few months and i firmly believe that negative experiences do influence positive change,” she stated in her speech.

Chief Justice Willy Mutunga also urged Amadi to stand firm against corruption that has rocked the Judiciary.

Amadi has been as advocate of the High Court of Kenya since 1989. She also practiced law privately in Mombasa between 1997 and 2003 after serving as a magistrate for six years from 1991 and 1997.

Amadi was until May 2008 the Deputy Executive Director and Head of Litigation with FIDA.
