The government is planning to appeal the high courts ruling of disbanding the communications Authority of Kenya board over irregularities in the appointment procedures.
Addresing the media today Information cabinet secretary Fred Matiangi said that he had consulted with the Attorney general to appeal the high courts decision as they do not agree with it.
He said the formation of the board was not formed by him but by a selection panel chaired by the Kenya Private sector Alliance and only given names afterwards.
Judge George Odunga on Friday last week quashed the gazette notice on the appointment of seven members of the panel over irregularities in the appointment procedures.
Disbandment of the team could have far reaching implications as decisions that were made by the board could be challenged in court among them concerning digital migration.
