Corruption has and continues to be a major menace to Kenya’s developmental agenda despite making progress in other areas.
President Uhuru Kenyatta in a retrogressive manner identified graft as one of the biggest challenges his government targets to address during Madaraka Day celebrations. however various stakeholders have come out courageously to curb the vice.
Civil societies have been in the forefront in combating graft. This is according to Boniface Mwangi, He says they filed a case before the last general election to bar various leaders not to contest for public office over integrity issues because they didn’t meet the chapter six leadership and integrity act but they lost the case since the government never supported them.
Civil society only plays a solely watch dog role, it’s a dog that doesn’t bite, added Boniface Mwangi .He urged the ordinary Kenyan citizen to help them fight corruption at all means and most importantly the government should at all costs declare it a national disaster for the benefit of its citizens.
Corruption can be fought by you and me.
