More than 16,000 Kenyans yesterday gathered at the Carnivore grounds in Nairobi to take part in the annual Safaricom Diabetes Walk that is designed to raise money to assist economically disadvantaged children.
The Diabetes Walk is organised by the Kenya Diabetes Management and Information Centre (DMI Centre) is also aimed at creating awareness on diabetes.
Executive Director Eva Muchemi termed the walk a success calling on Kenyans to be more agressive and dedicated when dealing with diabetes.
Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore says the walk will help the less fortunate families in getting insulin which currently cost more than 6,000 per month.
