
The Ministry of Health in conjunction with other stakeholders are set to conduct a country wide Tuberculosis Prevalence Survey geared to determine the disease burden to the country and existing challenges in accessing TB testing and treatment in the country.
Speaking during the launch of the survey, Head of the Division of National Strategic Public Health Programs Nicholas Muraguri has urged communities to come on board and participate so that the government can get correct statistics of the disease’s prevalence therefore come up with better mechanism to weed it out.
Meanwhile Muraguri maintains that the current TB toll stand at 15% with most affected individuals being people with over 15 years.
