Public Accounts Committee has recommended Chief Justice Willy Mutunga be surcharged 1.5 million shilings after investigations showed that he earned allowances illegally.
The report of the committee also recommends the arrest of former Judiciary registrar Gladys Sholei for mismanagement and not following financial laws.
Mutunga is among six other judicial officers who were paid millions for reduction of their leave days.
His leadership of the Judiciary was further questioned, with the committee saying that he must exercise effective general direction and firm control as required by law.
