oparanyaA burial in Matungu, Kakamega county, on Saturday turned chaotic after Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Mahiakalo MCA Cleophas Malala fought.

Malala, who is aspiring to be Kakamega senator, took to the podium after ODM party national youth chairman and three other MCAs had spoken during the burial of Peter Posho, father of Kakamega ODM party secretary Paul Posho.

Malala asked county leaders and officials to take seriously the implementation of devolution so citizens can benefit.

He asked Oparanya to explain why Kakamega Finance executive Paul Otsola is still in office “even after he was adversely mentioned in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s list of shame and subsequently asked by the county assembly to step aside following the Sh200 million irregularly given to Mumias Sugar Company by the county government”.

Malala told Oparanya to respect the assembly’s resolutions and the will of the people.

He asked the governor to deal firmly with corrupt officials in his government.

Malala condemned the construction of a cane weighbridge in Butere, saying it was permitted by the county government.
