A section of parents from Nairobi’s Kamukunji area has refused to take their children for polio vaccination citing concerns raised by the catholic church.
Ministry of Health Promotion Officer Lilian Mutua Kamukunji Sub County says the parents have strongly stuck to the concers issued by the Catholic Clerics over the safety of the vaccine.
Mutua is now calling upon parents to co-operate with the ministry on the on-going polio vaccination exercise that is being carried-out country wide.
She says says the campaign is majorly geared towards reducing contraction of polio diseaase by children under 5 years of age.
