The island nation of Zanzibar has already put in a bid to host the 2016 edition of the CECAFA Kagame Cup, following in the footsteps of Tanzania mainland.
The same has been confirmed by the CECAFA Secretary General, Nicholas Musonye, who noted that the tournament might return to Zanzibar where it was last played in 2002.
The Secretary General has also termed as successful the latest edition of CECAFA in Dar es Salaam which ended on Sunday 2 August.
Last week, he disclosed that plans were in place to host an Under-17 tournament in Uganda with a sponsor already in place. From the Kagame Cup, CECAFA now shift attention to the organization of the senior challenge cup which will take place in the Ethiopian city of Bahar Dar.
