The financial hardships at AFC Leopards are still biting and to some extent, if assistant coach Yusuf Chippo’s sentiments are anything to go by, the effects were evident in the team’s 1 – 1 draw with Bandari FC in  the Monday 3 August Kenyan Premier League (KPL) game at the Nyayo National Stadium.

The team was forced to rise to the occasion, with a goal from skipper Jackson Saleh after going behind to a Shaban Kenga goal, and in his post match comments, Chippo admitted that with the dire straits, the draw was a welcome result.

A blunt attack was a key concern for Ingwe in the game and that could be attributed to the lack of motivation in camp with the financial difficulties.

Even as Chippo looks to address the issue ahead of the next game, against Nakuru AllStars, he is hopeful that an end to the financial problems is coming soon.

After the match, AFC Leopards are fifth on the log with 35 points amassed from 21 matches.
