
The Supreme court court has declined the application by the Teachers Service Commission to suspend the court of appeals’ order directing the commission to effect the 50-60 percent pay rise.
In the ruling judge Kalpana Rawal stated that the Supreme Court lacks the power to rule on any appplication by the court of appeal and that the commission to comply with prior directive.
Meanwhile the Kenya National Union of Teachers secretary general Wilson Sossion, maintains that they will compel TSC using all corridors of justice to ensure 50-60 percent pay rise is reflected on payslips as from August this month.
