A wave of emotion swept the Restoration of Westgate committee when business woman Terry Mungai revealed how her employees have been affected by the Westgate terror attack.
Mungai who is the owner of Ashley’s Hair and Beauty Salon told the committee that she had a total of 40 employees in her Westgate Shop at the time of the terror attack.
The emotional but composed Mungai told the committee that one of her employees suffered trauma and has never uttered a word since the mall attack.
The lady who was a hairdresser by profession is reported to have been taken to many counselors but to no success.
“She has never uttered a word since the trauma and the many counseling sessions she has gone through have not yielded anything positive,” says Mungai.
Mungai says she hopes that the committee will also assist those who were injured in the attack and have never been able to go back to work since then.
She told the committee that she also has other employees who suffered physical injuries one of her employees broke her spinal cord when she tried to jump out of the window from the second floor of the building and the other one got shot in the leg.
She was however out of the country at the time of the attack and has been forced to use her finances to take care of the three employees who have since been unable to work.
