Security has been beefed up at Shanzu law courts and Mombasa town ahead of the charging of those arrested during the Masjid Mussa mosque riots on Sunday.
Meanwhile tension is till high ahead of today’s prayers at the mosque however police remain vigilant to deal with any chaos that may come up.
A group of GSU and prison officers have barricaded Shanzu court with the over 100 suspects being held at shimo la tewa expected in court.
Several leaders from Mombasa led by Senator Hassan Omar, Mvita lawmaker Abdulswamad Nassir and human rights activists are already in the courtroom.
