Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan
Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan on Monday sponsored 15 football teams to take part in the Football Kenya Federation Nairobi Branch League.
Hassan together with the Kamukunji CDF committee gave the team sports equipment comprising of uniforms, Bibs and gloves worth nearly one million shillings.
The MP also pledged to give the teams the affiliation fee of 750 shillings required to participate in the League.
“Kamkunji has produced the finest sportsmen in the Country , the likes of Mc Donald Mariga who is currently at iner Milan , Victor Mugubi who plies his trade in England and Denis Oliech , thi just shows the talent the are posses,”said Hassan.
“The youth need support and encouragement and having them engage in sports gives them an avenue of helping them have a brighter future and sports keeps them fit and busy thereby avoiding engaging in vices,”he added.
Makadara MP Benson Mutura last week also presented his constituency football teams with over 500,000 shilings and balls ahead of their participation in the league.
FKF acting Chairman Michael Ouma thanked the Legislator for the gesture saying that this moves shows that the Youths of Nairobi elected members who care about the wlefare of their Members.
