Civil rights groups have condemned the directive by Mombasa county commissioner Nelson Marwa ordering the execution of terrorism suspects.
Addressing the media, Al Amin Kimathi from TETEA a group that deals with couter terrorism and human rights says the move is unconstitutional and it will lead to extra judicial killings by police.
Kimathi added that most of the suspects that have been previously apprehended on suspicion of terrorist activities have been released indicating that police should arrest any suspects and not shoot to kill order.
Tthe group wants President Uhuru Kenyatta to avert the order and demand the resignation and prosecution of County Commissioner Nelson Marwa.
